I Need Your Opinion Please

I just got a set of KC Daylighters(not yet installed) and I am trying to figure out which covers/ rock guards I want. I would like to have one that will not melt when the lights are on. Let me know which ones or if you have another suggestion.

Thanks for al the help!
- Mike

I like the ones on the bottom, but the black/red would look good too

I have the chrome version on the the bottom black ones and they are very cool. I would recommend them. It takes all of 30 seconds to get out and take them off.

I want protection but the downside to the leather ones is I can't just flip them on at night when I need them I have to get out and take off the covers etc...

Is there a cover/ rock guard that looks good that I can leave on when the lights are on?

I say either go with the rock guards or with a solid plastic cover. They have saved mine on more then one occasion. Big tree branch hanging down at about 60 and nothing broken, with the leather I think it would have shattered the lens.

The vinyl covers might look nice, but like you(trigger01) were saying, for practicality (turning them on whenever you want without getting out of the truck) the 3rd ones would be best IMO, esp for protection against branches and what not.

Seeing as KC's are illegal here if not covered, I say leather covers. i have them for my KC's and it really isn't a big deal. If it was dark out and I thought I would use my lights I would take them off before I left home. But if it was daylight and it was easy for the cops to see them I would leave them covered.

Trust me, if you get busted once you change your whole attitude about them when yopu are handing that $100 fine over to the county realizing you lights cost less than that.

There really strict in my home town. I really not sure why but it cost me a bunch, so I bought covers. also it stopped the glass from getting sandblasted. Heck if you have a lifted truck in this town they Will pull you over and DOT it to make sure it is legal. It has happened to everyone of my friends who lifted there rig. My friend Robby got his Truck impounded and his plates removed cause of this.

Just so ya'll know what I decided to do, I ordered these today:
https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...tid=6701&stc=1

and I will be ordering these from somewhere within the next 1-3 weeks.

I will just put the leather one on over the steel ones. I don't want to go unprotected at all and I still like the looks of the leather cover.

I am pretty sure that they will fit, the steel screen is pretty much right aginst the light so it won't take up any room and the leather one should still fit.
