Ideas for a DSG XLT

So here's the deal...

I have a 2007 4.0L 4x4 in the Dark Shadow Gray (DSG). I want to dress her up w little bit. Right now it is all but stock except for the K&N. So hit me with some ideas. My avatar shows the truck.

What does everyone think? I have a few ideas but never have the confidence in my own creativity to just do it so throw ideas my way.

Thanks

Yea, I have more pics, when I get out of work I will toss them up.

The windows are tinted to NY limit I believe. Thought about a Billet grill but they are a pain to swap in the '07s.

Is the STX Grille an easy swap? Should bolt right in correct?

The STX Grille is no more trouble to install than a good quality Billet grille but pricey from Ford and not too easy to find in the JY.
Add some interior aluminum; *****, button covers, headlight surround.
Auto or Manual Trans ?
Bucket Seat, do you have them ?
Need pictures.

Pictures are coming, should be up around 5 o'clock. It is Auto Trans.

I like the idea of aluminum interior. Thought about repainting my calipers and rear drums. They need it so maybe Black or something more flashy?

Yeah camp out on the forums for STX grille, those are hard to come by and in high demand, but for a good reason. If not that then I would just paint the H bar DSG as well.

I believe the 07's still have the old torsion keys so you should be good there, maybe torque them up and level it out, some DSG alcoas are always a win for DSG trucks.

I love the look of black truck liner along the rocker panels with DSG.

I think silver would blend into the wheels I have though. They are pretty bright (when I manage to clean them) I had the thought of a bright red but that would be the only red on the truck so I dont know. I don't want it to look tacky either. Torsion crank isn't a bad idea, should be easy. How much lift can I expect from that?

Thanks so much guys, good to have some outside opinions, god knows my gf doesn't care anymore. :)

Thinking I am going to remove the tube steps and see how that looks. I use them usually so it will be different.

It's been Ziebart Undercoated so the undercarriage is all matte black and nice now.

Any thoughts on Fender Flares? I like the look of them on the FX4's but don't know if I would need bigger tires to make the look though.

My truck was DSG and I liked it at first but got bored with it after a while. I painted it black!

John,
That looks awesome! Did you do it yourself or did you have it painted at a body shop? Truth be known I wanted black but needed a truck and DSG was close enough for me at the time.

Justin,
I like the bugshield, but the tube-steps are gone tomorrow.

pull the steps and mud flaps. paint or powdercoat the wheels black, get black headlight housings, tint the windows. exahust would be cool too.

Here is a pic of my DSG 04 with black 06 Flares.

It has some 265/75/16's on it. I got rid of them for some Goodyear Wrangler Authorities and it looks much better now.

What color is the interior ?
The exterior color might look good with a Silver interior, i.e. Dash, Center Console, Radio Bezel, and a CD6 Radio in silver too.

Yeah I have alway loved those flares, but after seeing this pic, you need at least 33's for them to look right. Maybe if you painted them.

Mike,
I like the flares, a lot! Do they mount pretty well or does mud and salt get between them and the paint. Upstate New York loves salt so everything I do I am careful to make it as salt proof as possible.

Any idea for taking the mud flaps off? If I do I will have a 1/4 inch hole in the side of my fender from where they are factory mounted. Want to avoid holes...

Leave the push pins in the holes after you take the mud flaps off
