Those who cut their hitches and rewelded

How EXACTLY did you do it? I just raised my back bumper and want to cut and re-weld my hitch so it is up where its supposed to be. What is the best and safest way to do this? Pictures would be great!

Did you search and not find all th threads with tons of pictures posted?? One was made yesterday.

lol all it really is, is cutting bout 2.5-3 inchs off the bracket and rewelding...lol not much to it
