led tail light opinions

just curious what you guys think of these tail lights.. i'm kinda undecided... the white reverse section is higher than stock, and the red looks a little bit brighter or more pink than stock, but other than that, look good, imo... opinions? sadly, they don't come in red&smoked in this style

alternate, older style available in red, and red&smoked(pictured)

i can always give it a light coat of night shade on the first ones eh?

But you can get the top set smoked. I've seen them many times. Just wait, they will come back up.

I like the top ones cause you can have say... only the top one for running light, and both for brake, and only the bottom for blinker and so on. So you can have a two bulb style system. They remind me of Chevy tails on their new Silverado.

But really.. I dont trust Ebay LED's. Bet you they start going out way too soon.

You can do that with L1224R's also, just use dual bulb tail lights like on my 2004.

not surprised you said that...

these aren't off of ebay, they are off of www.magicar.com which i'm pretty sure a friend of mine bought a set off of, and they look great, and he loved them (untill he rolled a 200 gallon water tank into the back of his truck and broke them about 3 weeks ago)

Just cause its on a website and costs twice as much doesn't mean it isn't the same junk you get on eBay.

Only bad thing about those LED tails off ebay is when those bulbs start to burn out. It'll look like *** pretty quick and the only way to fix is is get new tails.

I was seriously going to go the eBay LED tails route too.....untill I found out about the L1224R's. I jumped all over that mod like a fat kid on chocolate.

man, if they start burning out, i'll start buying red 3w led's to replace them with

i think the ones danger posted look sick! but i would get the 04+ ones, with the reverse section in the middle

I love mine

on my second set, only because i backed into my dads truck and destroyed one of them. lol

first set had red tint, then nightshaded. the set i have now is clear with a black housing. but tinted very dark. the LED's are very bright and are easily seen even in the sunlight.

with flash (to see the reflector)

no problems at all. i only had one problem. and that was on one of the lights, a long time ago, one of the wires came loose from the circuit board. musta been a freak accident because it hasn't happened on this set. either way it was easy to fix. they have the hole on the back where the stock bulb would be. and the wire is easily visible in that hole. just took the soldering iron and fixed it. took a few seconds. lol

also FWIW, i don't have my inner bed linings on my truck, so if you stick your head in there and look towards the tail lights you can see them easily. which means water from the tires can easily get sprayed up there. never had a problem.
