I think almost all the Ranger years newer than yours have plastic headlights.

So No advantage to upgrading to the 2005 headlights then? Looked like to me they have different bulb set ups. thought that it might give some more light on the subject( little tongue in cheek humor). As a new owner just looking at the little things to set my truck off from the rest. Thanks for the answers guys.

The 05 is more of a euro design were the 99 is frosted.

in order to run 01+ lights you'll need to do a front end conversion

So it's not just a matter of changing wires and headlights, you sheet metal isn't comparable? Oh, I figured I couldn't be that lucky, on to the next mods, getting the SmittyBuilt nerf bars installed.

Thank you for the update, and thanks to all the others that answered, hopefully down the line I'll be able to pass on some Ranger wisdom of my own

You could always upgrade your existing lights...

There's other styles out there......black themes, cheap-**** projector, etc....blahblahblah. Your color would look best with chrome in my opinion.
