Mud flaps on or off?

I know some of you guys have taken off your mud flaps.

Did you like them better on or off?

How did your lower body panels like you afterwards?

Take em off. It held up pretty good but then I added the rock guards from a 2wd and bedlined the bottom most part of the rocker to help out.

2wd rock gaurd.

Take em off, one less thing to wash. Had mine off since it was new and no real chips to speak of running mud tires and alot of gravel roads.

Mine are off in the summer and on in the winter.

Off and I have had no chipping for years.

Taylor 03-25-2011 09:43 AM

Off it is then lol. I thought the same thing Jason, that it would be one less thing to wash.

Thanks for the pics Chris!!

I also plan on bed lining the lowest part of the rocker panels.

I wouldn't bother with the bedlining. If u feel the rear panels they almost seem like they were bedlined and painted over. It's ur call though it won't cost much to do it. Heavy offroading i'd do it too just to be safe. Toss some pics up afterwards. Without the flaps it looks a bit higher, which is why I did it.

no problem for the pics, 2 reasons why i did the bed liner. 1 it connects the black from the front valance all the way back to the rear bumper and 2. I was starting to get some nice rock chips down there. Cost me like 7 bucks. I used the rustoleum bed line in a spray can.

Haha, i see me selling my mud flaps got it in your head to take yours off. Glad i could help, haha.

Blackout01 03-25-2011 12:10 PM

I took mine off also, only thing I have found is it slings a lot of dirt and crap up onto the back of the taillights

01RangerEdge 03-25-2011 12:18 PM

Off, looks a lot better

<TX>TORKiT 03-25-2011 03:34 PM

Mudflaps on looks better to me. If you like picking up old ladies?

DangerRanger91 03-25-2011 03:40 PM

OFF!

FULLSCALE 03-25-2011 06:10 PM

Take 'em off! That's the first thing I did with my truck. The only time I use mud flaps are my Rally Armor ones on the Mazda in the winter!

LOL!! Yeah. DARN YOU!!! haha jk. Thanks.

I took mine off tonight.

I have a question though. On the front, about the plastic piece that guards the rocker panel. Did you guys take that piece off?

Oh, and I was worried about what I would find under the flaps, and I found bare metal in some spots. So...bedliner it is lol.

Topdog2007 03-25-2011 09:12 PM

OFF!!!

Taylor 03-26-2011 10:37 AM

Ok, so I took my flaps off.

If I want to bedline the area where the flaps were, then what is the best way to plug the holes before I bedline it?

RANGER_620 03-26-2011 10:50 AM

Tampon's of course haha jk

rangerrunner11 03-26-2011 01:24 PM

I just used a bolt and nut. after painting bedliner of course but once the paint is on and dried just used a nice shiny bolt and nut to fill the whole....or you can use JB weld

Hmmmm...never thought about jb weld. Could I apply the bed liner over the jb weld?

I might just stick with a black painted nut and bolt.
