valence hacked for tow hooks

valence hacked for tow hooks

well i pushed myself to do it just incase i get stuck this weekend for a ranger wheelin trip/meet with about 10 other MA ppl. hacked up the valence. it looks alright from further back but from close up ehh lol

as u can see i got a little happy with the torch on the left hook lol u can see the brown spot. I haven't tried getting that spot out though im sure it will come out with a good wash, if not whatever haha i don't really care

when you have a body lift the valance is in the way.

dremel...fun getting melted plastic all up my arm cutting it lol...i really didnt care if it came out bad or not i can get another valence for ten bucks lol used a torch to melt the crap off of the edges..i still need to sand it but i really don't feel like doing it AND i have a ton of work to do for classes.

i have a body lift so i couldn't put them back in unless i ripped off the valence...or cut it haha

same way here i went for years with out them cause i didnt want to cut my valance. then i just done the mod and didnt have to cut the valance

ask stone. i had to wait a hot min. to get the answer and had to drive 8 hours to knoxville to find out.

Hmm... The main reason i dont really want a BL is becuase of that valance cutting situation. Now im considering one in the future. Who knows??? If i ever do a BL though i would most likely do like what shane did and put in a front hitch and rock the honda impeler. lol. That looks way more badass anyways.

their is a lot of cutting and welding to be done i had mine done in about 2 hours its not hard just got to sit down and figure out how to make them work

yeah i could care less to "mod" them cuz it takes too long and i really don't care about looks plus i am picking up a valence for ten bucks next week so if i want it nice again ill just swap it out
as long as it works i don't care how bad it looks haha you may but i don't lol...
i will however NOT screw with my valence once i do the 01+ front end conversion haha i want that lookin good

i did mine on my 01 and it didnt look bad but i also used a paddle bit and drilled a 1in hole in each corner then used a hack saw for the staight part and didnt use heat

you have the cast iron hooks you cant do anything with them anyways

cast iron what is this you speak of is that what the stock 4x4 ones are?
then the fx4 are stainless steel?
