Icon10 Need some ideas!

Heyy Yall!,
I finally decided I'd get on here and see what yall think, I have a 1999 Ford Ranger. Im not a DD but I do drive a good amount. Im a highschool student with a new job so $ won't be too big of an issue but it is a little tight at the moment. I need some ideas of what to do with my truck. I want to get it lifted and throw some bigger tires under it but im not sure yet. I can't go out spending like crazy so please give me some ideas on the cheaper end. It is 2WD. I want to be able to take my truck out off road with my buddies and be able to keep up with their Jeeps and nicer trucks. PLEASE HELP! I really need some good ideas of what I should go out and buy to fix up my truck. If you can, please use lamemans terms when describing what I should do. Im not too mechanically savvy but my step dad is a master mechanic so he'll know what to do. I will post some pictures but I don't have time to do it at the moment. Any help yall can provide is greatly appreciated!

Bodylift, larger tires & limited slip/locker for the rear end. Cheap enough to do and will help out alot!

The body lift and tires alone will do some good damage.

Welcome to R/F. Mods do get addicting.

X2. That lift will run you around $200. After that is lift coils, $100-200, spindles $300-500, coil spacers $50, and that's about it for front lift. For the back there are a lot of options as well.
