Does this look right to you?

Hey guys, I just bought a 2001 ford ranger edge. I know its not a huge deal, but I am weirdly **** about things like this, so I was wondering if you guys could tell me if this is what your tailgate looks like if you look at it from inside the bed? I just don't know if the bed is bent or not.

It is raining right now so I drew a picture. Notice how it appears on the inside that the tailgate does not line up with the bed rails. Thanks to anyone that replies.

Can't say I've ever looked at mine from that angle... tonneau cover is usually on or there's something in the bed blocking the view! I'll try and remember to take a look at mine tomorrow.

Thanks man that would be awesome. I think it looks almost straight from the outside, its probably fine. I just don't want to waste money on a nice spray in bedliner just to find out my bed isn't even straight :-/

Why not place something with a flat edge from the top of the bed to the floor and measure the upper and lower distances and see if they are different. If they are, you know your bed is bowed

True I could do that if it stops raining, you mean basically see if both sides are symmetrical?

Not symmetrical but to make sure your inner bedsides are perpendicular to the bed. If the upper and lower measurements are the same, your bed is fine. If the top is larger, then you have a problem and need to get your bed straightened before you spend the coin on a liner.

Why would he just go and do it. It might not be as bad as he thinks (pics would help more then a drawing).
Besides, if you did do that use a rachet w/ hooks and put them in the stake pocket holes. Not just wrapped around your bedsides and over/under the bed.

Ok so its not as bad as I had thought, and as soon as I went out there it started raining again so I only have the one picture. I measured across the the top and bottom, and the top is almost 1/4" wider than the bottom.

That's not that much. Do you have problems opening and closing that tailgate?
Keep an eye on it and if it gets worse, you could always do the ratchet trick.

I just went to look at mine and realized I can't help you with measurements since I've got a bed liner. However, the bottom measured 51.5"ish at the opening and the top was very similar.

Mine was 51.5 and 51.7ish you're right its not bad I just don't know why it isn't straight, it bothers me, if you are saying your sides are parallel with each other i might try and pull them just a little bit.
