New Headlights...maybe...
 

Ive been noticing most of you guys have different headlights, whether the HIDs, Projectors, stock headlights with nightshade on them, etc. etc... I have a 2004 Black Edge and want to be just a lil different..Im not into the HID look, and I love my orange parking/regular foglight look, just trying to find a simple headlight that will still have the same output but just look a lil nicer... Any suggestions, maybe something like this? Tail lights also?

A lot of people do that, thats a very common mod.

Actually you don't even need to buy them, you can do that yourself

Common mod as in the picture I posted? Hows that? I like the hell out of those HID Projectors, but I dont think Im willing to drop over a bill or a bill-50 on headlights lol...Maybe one day after my boat and house are paid off.... Nightshading or what?

Basically you bake your headlights at 190 degrees. Then you pop off the lens, mask off the reflector and paint the color you want on the rest.

You ever tried that, lol? Im not sure Id wanna do that, probably just drop 75 or 100, if I could, on something like that.. Hell maybe even something as simple as those clear corners like you have.. Just tossin' things up in the air right now

That's how most people on here do it. I never tried it myself, but it's been done countless times.

Ive done it with my buddies camaro headlights more than a few times. Its really pretty easy to do. Just make sure you seal them up good after you paint them.

What do you use to glue/seal the assembly back together?

In another post I read a guy used gloss black. Why wouldn't you go with flat or semi-gloss for a more subdued look??

I used clear bathroom silicone to seal mine back up. Came out great. I used Satin Black in mine

Just use any kind of sealant

You can use any kind of paint that will hold up to the heat of the bulb

Bought these off e-bay. But you can do the same thing doing the headlight mod, but you'll need clear corners and mod those.

Yeah, I bit the bullet and purchased a set of black headlights and corners off eBay too. I didn't feel like baking my OE's. As much as there has been great reviews, there has also been a fair share of phucked headlights too.

YIKES....... $158 plus $48 S&H. That's pretty steep.

Saw some for like 65 plus 48 shipping.

I bumped the headlight mod in this same forum it should be at the top now, good insight in there and lots of pictures.

i baked and painted, and re-sealed 3 headlights, and 3 corner lights, and so far, of the 6 housings baked, 3 came out perfect, 2 came out better than minimally acceptable, 1 came out terrible... (be REALLY careful of the corners, they melt easy)

It's really not difficult to do. It sounds horrible...baking your headlights lol...but as long as you're careful, you won't hurt anything. You're basically just heating up the glue that holds the lens to the rest of the housing.
The way I ended up talking myself into it was, if I screwed it up baking them, I was going to buy the set off Ebay anyways, I may as well give it a shot and try to save some money.
Doing it myself ended up costing a little over $6 for the paint.
If you're not comfortable doing it though and would rather buy them, that's understandable.....I never though my headlights would be in the oven lol

Here's some shots with and without the clear corners. I ended up leaving the clears on that I got off Ebay but tried taking the stock corners, baking them too and painted them black behind the reflector as well. I still think they looked ok.

Paid way less then that for mine. You have to watch for the right sellers. Keep patient little grasshopper.
