NEW OEM keypad for 07-08 rangers

went to the ford site this morning and they now sell the keypads, says no drilling required, uses the frequency of your keyless entry keys, and has LED lighting... can be purchased for $85, not too bad...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Keyless Entry Keypad
Part Number: 7L2Z-14A626-BA
MSRP: $85.00

Conveniently unlock your vehicle without your key or keyless entry remote. No wiring necessary programmable, backlit keypad tunes to the same frequency as your transmitter. No-drill installation. Comes with two covers: one is primed (paint to match); the other has a black textured finish. For vehicles equipped with factory remote keyless entry.

definately buy it, I put one on my mustang, I love it. However, mine was free, so that just makes it that much better :) but still $85 is worth it

Works as long as you have keyless entry on your truck (From 2000 on up I believe).

Those keypads have been around for a few years now. I have one on my '98. It's just like pressing the "unlock" or "lock" button on your key fob. Punch in the code and the doors unlock. Press the two right-most buttons at the same time and the doors lock.

The keypad is programmed to your truck in the same manner that a key fob is programmed, and because of that, you will need all your key fobs with you when you go to program the keypad (since all remotes must be programmed at the same time).

The truck is still under warranty, so let Ford do it. That way, if there is a problem with the PATS system later on, there won't be any way for Ford to wiggle out of the repair.

I just purchased a ford keypad for my ranger too. It came black textured but i painted it to match as the sports door handles, mirrors, etc are color keyed so i thought it would look better. Just painted it at work today as well as the 08sport grille i bought. Haven't installed them yet but here is a quick pic i took today. I noticed from the pictures the numbers look slightly different than some. I bought it new on ebay for $30 plus $10 to ship, i thought that was a great deal.

That's what mine looks like, only I left it black. It's probably the "older" style.
