Check out this tonneau cover i bought

My grandpa cap will be gone as of friday morning at 11 am, and i leave to go up north at 12 so i bought a tonneau cover in advance to save some gas.

I ordered this cover today, it should be in tomorrow.

Its a normal Extang tonneau cover, but it has gas shocks to where the frame will lift up like a hard top. And the frame will pop off like nothing so i can keep the cover stretched out on the frame and it wont shrink in the winter.
Or, i can take the vinal top off just like a normal cover.

This thing is pretty cool. i cant wait to get it.
I ran me about $320 O.T.D (uninstalled)

check it out.

ya, $316.94 to be exact.
I went through a company who deals with extang covers, so they ordered it for me and all i have to do is pick it up from them tomorrow.

after calling around, every other place was just over $400 for the same cover.

If thats what you like then go for it. I had one like it and hated the snaps on it took 2 people to snap them.

i LOVE my Extang cover!

good buy man!

mine doesnt have the hinges though, but they all still work the same.

and theres a trick to getting the vinyl on after removal...
heres what i do

go ahead and set all of the tabs for summer weather (u'll see in u're directions) for each side EXCEPT the tailgate, leave that for winter.

then snap all the snaps near the cab first, and nothing else.

then attach the snaps in each corner, and then start on the sides...heres the key....meet in the middle...in that, i mean, snap a few to your left, then a few to your right, until u meet in the middle....

its always worked for me. hope it will for u too!

Really? Wow, I've never had problems, except for in the dead of winter. Even then if you just wait until mid-day the sun has usually warmed up the cover to the point where it will snap easily. Either that or reverse the snaps and use the lower setting for the bows. Like was said, start at the corners and get those snapped down first. It's all cake from there..

Snaps and bows may be 'old-school', but they are reliable! ..Oh, and affordable. My snap & bow Extang 'Platinum' was mine for less than $200 out the door.

yea, no way it was an Access top, the bars are only two feet apart and with the velco sides you can make it as tight as a drum

IMO it is one of the best roll up tonneau covers made
there are 3 models and the lowest cost new for a Ranger is only $270

True.. not sure why you'd pay $300+ for a soft tonneau..

i bought mine for $170 brand new...origional cost was $300

i like the soft covers better than hard...looks more truckish...especially on a lifted truck..if u're lowered, go with hard cover

Once you get snow on the velcro part of the cover, its not going to stick anymore untill it melts.

Did any of you look at the web site that i posted.

THE WHOLE FRAME COMES OFF IN SECONDS.
I dont need to take just the vinal off in the winter and worry about shrinking.
I can take the whole frame off by poping out the 2 gas hindges.
I just put the cover on and it is beautiful.
comes off like nothing.

Ill take some pix tomorrow in the daylight.
