Grille Inserts

Woke up today and had absolutely nothing to do. Decided to change up the grille a little so I went to Home Depot and bought some roof gutter guards. Took me about 30 minutes because I had to make my cuts with a little wire snipper. Here's the end result.

Looks good. How did you attach it? I'm thinking about doing this myself.

I just used the tabs that are already on there and made the wire kinda clip into them. Then I used tie wire to fasten it all together. It holds in really well and doesn't push out too easily.

That looks awsome man! That's what I want to do as well but paint them a satin black color! So just fit and snip huh? Did you secure it with zip ties?

I didn't use zip ties because they don't hold up to weather as well as tie wire. It's the same tie wire that is used with rebar which is used in concrete so the tie will last for a really long time. It was very easy to do and I'm sure anybody who tries it should have a good outcome.

looks nice, but what about airflow restriction? being your in Cali, you want all the airflow you can get.

That looks really nice.
My question, is that material stainless steel? If not, it would be a pain to clean over time. What if we bought the stainless steel mess for screen doors? I am not criticizing your work just thinking out loud. I want to do a new grille for my '60 Ranchero and just looking at different options.

I just put those on my truck about a week ago they look really good. I spray painted mine black it goes good with the DSG. I tried with zip ties frist but i couldnt get it to stay tight in the middle. So I just used a hot glue gun and that seemed to work just fine.
