Options for tailpipe

What do you guys do with your exhaust? My tailpipe isn't the best looking thing in the world and I'm wondering if taking it of or replacing it would be a good option. A lot of the exhaust I hear on rangers sounds very ricey.. I don't know what is better, having a rusted pipe or a ricey sounding truck

I was thinking about just putting in a new piece of pipe from the muffler back. I feel the same way you do, I dont want a louder exhaust on a V6. JMO though. And I have a body lift, it looks wayyyyy worse than yours. lol

Cut it and turn it out just in front of the tire. Like mine.

You could clean up the existing pipe a bit. Sand some of the rust down (its going to look like your giving the truck a handy) and use a high temp black spray paint from home depot.

x4 on the cutting it off. so much better, or get it to come out the side right before the tire. i might do that if i ever change my muffler to something different.

Yuck... I bet that sounds like crap.

I have a vid. Right here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3qoHSBn9PIw

Mine was just done for fun, while we were messing with new exhaust on my truck. I can take a vid of mine now if you'd like OP. I've got a super40 on there right now dumped after the muffler, last cat delete mod done and 2.5in from the last cat back. It sounds healthy, and not too loud but not quiet.

I would cut the pipe off from the muffler back and run a new pipe exiting right in front of the rear tire.

that sounds good in my opinion!!!

to the OP- i have a raptor muffler and 2.5" pipe waiting to go on my truck.. its laying under it right now. i had the raptor muffler (cheap 30 buck thing from Lordco) on my s10 2.8 V6 and it sounded good.. im also going to dump it infront of the rear tire so i dont have to **** around with getting the pipe bent over the rear axle.

I'll grab a video tomorrow when I'm back at my parents for the week.

No, that video I posted above is straight off the cats. It sounds like a straight piped toyota, wannabe diesel/tractor. It's gross.

I vote stock muffler and cut the tailpipe just as it comes over the axle for a clean look
