Rear window ventshade....

Does anyone know if the rear window ventshade is applied on the window itself, or on the truck body above the window. I'm looking at getting one because my rear window leaks and water gets onto my stereo system, which is not good at all. I've tried sealing it and everything but nothing works, so the ventshade sounds like a good idea if it is applied on top of the window so the water would run off of there first and not get to the top of the window corners where it does leak.
I was going to go to a local auto shop and see if they knew, but probably not.

Check the brake light 1st.
I'm pretty sure that the ventshade attaches to the truck, I've seen them on trucks w/ a sliding rear window and there is no way the window would open if something was stuck to it.

ohhh, i know for a fact it's leaking at the top corners of the window seal, NOT the 3rd brake light. I've had the window replaced already after I broke the original one trying to seal it and stuff. I had it replaced before winter yet and it leaked a month after the install.
There were a few other threads mentioning the leak and other people's is leaking through the seal like mine. A few did have a problem with the light leaking.

I have one on my truck. It mounts to the truck cab "NOT" the window. Looks pretty good too.
