Painting Frame...

My truck's frame is getting a bit rusty from age (99). I was thinking about painting the areas that are visible (transfer case, wheel well areas, ect) with black spray paint. I was just wondering if this was do-able. And if so, how should I go about removing the rust (I dont have a sandblaster), prepping the surface, ect. I understand this wont be a permant solution, but at least last a few years, if that.
Thanks,
Chris

wire brush a lil sand paper or a die grinder works the best. I know what your talking about mine is pretty nasty too.

From: Coal Region, MTC to be exact...heart of the coal region.
dont mess with spray bombs. pick up an oil based enamal paint like rustoluem in the yellow can. get soem foam brushed while ur at it. thoroughly clean the frame at the car wash or with a pressure washer and paint away. no need to really prep besides a wire brush quickly over the rust to get the loose crud off. i did my frame 2 yrs ago with the rustoleum and it looks brand new...and i come from the salt belt.
