exhaust appearance

i want to replace my tips on my exhaust because they are chrome and they RUST!!! there is a lot of rust on them right now and they have to go. my question is, do you think it would look okay if i angled them behind the rear tires, or should i leave them straight. the reason i ask, is cause they would have to hang lower so they wont hit the leaf springs. oh yeah, what is your opinion on 4" tips for those of you that have them. i have done some searching and and found out that not many people have them. let me know what you think.

2.5" in and 2.5" out with 3" tips

I think 4" tips would look huge. I always like the angled exhaust behind the wheels, looks slick.

I would angle after the tires...

I'm a little biased though:

Is that at a 45 degree angle? or 90 degree? Seems to be 45 degree.. Looks nice, and the more bends, the deeper the sound i believe. But on some trucks i like straight out the back. Oh and any sound clips? Gopher?

Thanks, it's close to a 45 degree angle. It's actually a Gibson Dual Extreme exhaust kit #9704. I don't have any sound clips, but Gibson might on their site.

The FX4 logo is actually off of a FX4 Expedition that Ford made for a couple of years. Most dealers do not even know they existed, but the model # is 2L1Z-7842528-ABB. As for the tires, I love them. I've had them for about 4 years and would buy them again in a heartbeat. I am a little curious about how the newer M/T's are however.

well, i talked to the guy that i go to for my exhaust and he recommended that I keep them straight out the back. the reason i was thinking of going out behind he rear tires was so i could fit a hitch under there without it rubbing up or hitting the exhaust. well...i got the tips and scheduled an appointment for monday to have them put on. they are gonna be 3.5" to 4" tips. ill post pics of the new mods when i get back home on tuesday
