Rack question

I need some opinions. My last thread was kinda buried on this topic. I need to know what you all think of me taking off my lights for the summer/fall and mounting the kayaks directly to the rack instead of the hitch contraption I put together. It would be faster and easier to access the bed. Here's my photochop of what the truck would look like sans lights.

Yeah i dont understand what does taking your lights off have to do with mounting your kayaks directly to your rack? What your saying probly makes sense to you but i dont get it sorry.

I'm asking what your thoughts are on me removing the kc lights from the top of the rack for the rest of summer / fall so I can use the top rack for the kayaks instead of using the rear of the rack and the hitch mount.

Kayaks only on the roof rack instead of this:
