In the parking lot, I pull up behind a dodge dakota, well no sooner the owner of it puts it in reverse and smashes into the box of my truck. two hours later after I get out of the police station, I take it to a repare shop for a estimate. like $3000. damn dude, i have the same damage on the same side, my X gf;s grandfather side swiped my truck with his boat, 3 large white streaks and a kinked dent from the top of the bed to the last 6 inches of paneling, from the the fender flair, to the tail light, an di was so mad i punched my taillight and smashed the reverse clear plastic, bout broke my fingers, but 3000 man no income tax check is paying for that

 

Maybe if you rubberize it and dont post pics, we'll know its fixed.

That really sucks, but I know how you feel. I had someone run into PS of my truck and cause $3500 in damage so $3000 for that sounds about right. I hope you get it fixed soon and back to normal.

Actaully he is a Ram driver, his 08 Ram was getting a service and his family owns the dodge dealership so he took a new dakota off the lot and backed into me with it.

Im gunna laugh when they sell that truck and i'll know its the truck that backed into me!

3K sounds right. Its damaged enough that they are gonna replace the bedside. A new bedside alone is gonna be like $600. Plus the labor for cutting it off and taking off the bed. Itll look great when done though

Too bad you took it in for the estimate already. Even a good deep scratch on one would warrant replacement of both most likely (due to them being non stock). However, that would constitute insurance fraud and i would of course never ever condone that. Unless of course it was for sure hit in the wreck.

Or umm... unless it started to leak water AFTER you get it back of course.

 

why not just replace the bed instead of the side? or would the cost of a bed be 3000 alone? lol
