just to clarify. I think the raptor is perfectly good looking truck. perfect, so all the guys who want a really impractical/ flashy truck can pound pavement out to the bars every friday night. so i understand your view on the raptor...my understanding was this was just labeled as a "raptor styled hood". no clones, just building something that looks good, for a good truck(ranger)

so whats to keep rain from getting through, or would it not be a big deal? while functional, on a stock truck I can't see them doing much more than looks.

also, is this fiberglass?

Chk’d it out really hanging on liking it, not sure what to say.

The F-150 parts are sized to the truck but the Ranger parts are not.
Remake needed to make it look better.

I am liking the hood though; but I just wanted a grille to fit an 03 Ranger that had the FORD spread.

Functional Scoop, nice, should keep the under hood temp lower when the 5.0l goes in.

Yes it fiberglass, it will keep engine compartment temp down somewhat. yes parked driving rain will drip in engine compartment so-what, we drive in rain/snow and thru water with no problems.
It was built for looks & function. and I like it.
thanks=brian

Yeah I think I was thinking of an issue back in the day with some corvette hoods with an intake letting water in. Maybe in the 80s. Can't find any info on it right now though. But I guess as long as water isn't getting into the engine it wouldn't be a problem. Which is the problem they had with some corvettes, it rained and the engine locked up.

Anyway I still think it looks good and I want one. Is the dome higher than the factory powerdome? It looks higher than mine. I also notice they left out the center cutout that is on the factory hood, I guess they won't be doing that will they?

I still want one... Just think it might look a little silly on a truck that isn't lifted or anything. Do you have any pics of the whole truck from a few different angles? Are you lifed any?

I doubt there will be a problem with water... the cowl hood on my Mustang was open in the back and it sat out in the pouring rain more than once!

Not sure if you can only see it as a mod, but if you go in and edit your thread you can scroll down and click "manage attachments". I removed the duplicates for you.

Not everybody wants a rattley self built prerunner that consumes all their time and in the long run money to make it right, you will never build a truck as comfortable and capable as a raptor for cheaper with a warranty which ford strongly backs on these trucks. Your opinion has been proved wrong by the countless happy raptor owners.

Tons of reputable fab shops own them and love them too

Anyway ON topic, love the hood. I'll probably have to get one for my truck

Definately not what I'd throw on any ranger, but if it was built up enough to fit in id do it.

Raptor style hoods ready

Finally, Fresh out of the mold, no more hood pins= If you’re interested in getting a hood I believe he has 2004 +up ready to order around mid $400. His phone # 310 327-2337 or email mike@mpdfiberbodywerx.com, he is usually working in the shop so he may not pick up the phone. He's working to update the 2003 and early for hood latch models.
He does have both models available if you want hood pins. Plus matching Fenders.
I think he’s a goal is make customers happy with a good Quality products.
Southern Calif Ranger owners can pick up at his shop, save shipping.

i like it, but i feel like it should have the center drop down (my favorite part of a powerdome) and some grill mesh to fill in the vents. cant wait to see it painted!

calm down bro. they just would like to see painted pics. we also are curious as to what a final price is rather than the estimate above.

also the front end of the hood looks a little angular, compared to the fender, is there a reason for that, or am I nitpicking?

If you want to get some publicity for these I'd recommend a website if you don't already have one. this isn't exactly a for sale thread anyway.

oh and whats shipping look like, probably $150+ to me huh?

Looks sooo much better with no hood pins. How long did it take to fab it out. From beginning to where you/they are at now? That just more curiosity from me.
