Removing Old Emblems

I got my 06 emblems in today and I don't know how to get the old ones off...

HOW!?!

Redneckstone Dec 5, 2005 03:13 PM

Fishing wire...and a head gun if needed to get off old glue and if that doesnt work use wd40 its odd but it works

SoundPer4mance Dec 5, 2005 03:15 PM

channing glad you got them!! post some pics when youre done!

Strider0O0 Dec 5, 2005 03:15 PM

lol.. i just used my fingers and pryed.. they came off, but half the adhesive stayed on the truck. from there, i just used a rubbing compound to get the adhesive off.

but yeah, i recommend doing it the proper way, dont take my way as the better bet. it might screw something up(what, i don't know exactly, but better to say it to be safe)

dsef82 Dec 5, 2005 03:17 PM

i used a hair dryer instead of a heat gun

rolla_guy72 Dec 5, 2005 03:18 PM

Thanks guys, I gotta go to work...like right now, but I'll post some pics when I get them on!!!

Cheers to BOB!!!

heat em up first, and take your time...

rolla_guy72 Dec 5, 2005 10:50 PM

Thanks guys, I think I'm gonna skip class tomorrow and put my emblems on. I hate class...

Trevelyn1015 Dec 5, 2005 10:53 PM

dude, it'll take you less than 10-15 minutes...

and buy some goo-gone for the old adhesive left on the truck...

and go to class.

rolla_guy72 Dec 5, 2005 11:09 PM

but i dont wanna go to class!!

SoundPer4mance Dec 6, 2005 04:56 AM

go to class

rolla_guy72 Dec 6, 2005 07:22 AM

I'm not going to my first class, and yeah.... i picked the frikin coldest day day of the year to try to do this. I got the emblems off but I'm warming up/eating breakfast right now. I can't find any wd40 so I gotta go to the store to get some.

rolla_guy72 Dec 6, 2005 08:56 AM

OK, Here's the pic finally!! Took forever to get that crap off! The WD40 wasn't working very well so I tried OXY Orange or whatever it's called. It came right off with a razor blade.

Glad to see ya finally got the old emblems off.....Can't believe you used a razor blade though!!!

Redneckstone Dec 6, 2005 10:28 AM

razor blade oh dear...

rolla_guy72 Dec 6, 2005 10:42 AM

I was really careful and only scratched the paint a little. It was the only way I could get the crap off. If it was a normal FL day, it would have come off more easily. You can't even see any of the scratches.

INT3RC3PTOR Dec 6, 2005 10:43 AM
