Replacing door seals
Hi,
I have a 1998 Ranger 2 door and I'd like to replace the door seals (not sure if this is the correct term), to keep more heat in/water out. It goes around the entire door. Anyone know what I should be searching for/a part number? Thanks https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...7d10236bf1.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...08bfb12aa5.jpg |
Try LMC Truck Parts. Online catalog, Ranger Catalog.
They carry full line of replacement seals. You can also try Ford Parts .com, NOS Parts.com, and Steele Rubber Products. Grumpaw |
Whew $240 for 2 doors, I guess i'll keep my old stuff until it falls apart.

Yeah, those seals are not cheap. And, you have to consider that some of them are new/old stock, and 20-30 years old.
Even seals for newer vehicles are expensive. Steele is probably the most $$$ but their products are all new reproduction items. Replacing seals on an entire vehicle that your restoring can easily run $1000 to $2000. (ask me how I know) Grumpaw |
One trick we used at the dealership years ago. When working with weather strips that are hollow, we would run a small diameter length rubber (vacuum) hose inside the molding. You may have to try a different size to correct your issue. Or use a different size in different area's. My 97 needs this done, I have major wind noise from both doors at highway speeds. And my doors are adjusted perfectly.
