Roof Rack

Do you guys know if they make roof racks for single cab trucks? I've looked around, and haven't come across anything. Thanks.

Do those clamp on NO drilling ? If so would that be a good light bar.

sawred Aug 2, 2005 08:17 AM

I'm pretty sure the racks bolt to fittings which bolt/screw in to the roof or channels.

leftofedge has one...look at his page for some pics

9999% is drilling. and also if you worryed about leaking my KC bar doesnt leak just have to use RTV sealer when installing it.

You could go with a Yakima or Thule rack as a base, no holes required but costly{ I've been pricing this route }. Then mount basket on it.
Next could go with a bolt on base rack, Again, Yakima with Landing pads very pricey:(
Next, could modify a track style rack from wreckers, I;m thinkin maybe shorten on from a sportrac if you can find it. Less expensive, holes required, then mount basket to that. added bonus, cross bars are removable.
Next, Light bar, KC or other.
If no cap or cover, you could go with a headache rack with a basket support that goes over cab, very solid, probably expensive, if you can weld, you could make one for beans, Wont work for me, I have a cap.

can siome one show how these CLAMP on brakets work?

Martiangod Aug 2, 2005 08:25 PM

This is the Yakima Q Tower, uses for gutterless instalation, uses the inner lip behind the door rubber for support

This is the Yakima Control towers using the Lading pad, they can t-nut to a track or bolt directly to roof

Hope that helps
Both are lockable, so they cant be removed without key and doors being open

Yes it was a 97. It was lifted, looked damn good. He also got a 01 white ranger if i am thinking of the same person. Badkarma was his name, if I remember correctly.

Looking at his cardomain, he had the basket in his bed, not on the roof.

I think the basket will look too big for the small ranger reg. cab roof.
