keeping plastics (wheel fairings) looking like new

I probably didnt use the right terminology in the title, but what I wanted to know is how to keep my plastics around my wheel wells looking like they do now (new). The same I guess can be said for my bumper, the bottom half that is not chromed is a grey'ish' plastic and I have seen many used rangers on car lots where the plastics are all faded, etc. I DONT ever want that to happen to mine

While I was in the market for a truck I saw an '05 Ranger FX4 at a dealer with 126k the 4.0 SOHC for $16k and it had faded plastic and more rust on it than my 95 Ranger had on it.... It was white and not at all in good shape. I ended up getting the '02 in my signature for around $8k and it has no rust whatsoever and looks brand new.

Well I like their look, I dont mind the plastic, but I dont want to use something to clean them that wont dry them out like alcohol, When I wash my truck (I use Blue Coral wash 'n' wax) and end up washing them sorta with the sponge as I go.

Like smacks said paint. A lot of people on here Take the front valance and flairs off and just paint them black.

EDIT:
Just use something like Armor-All on them. I don't like armor-all so I don't use it, but what ever interior detailer you use should shine them up. Head out to a place that has automotive products and they should probably have something for trim pieces.

Use Mother's brand "back to black". Its for bumper, mirrors and all that other exterior plastic. My truck is an 04 and the plastic on it is in very good shape. I bought some fog light bezels to install in my bumper and the bezels were really faded. I tried armor all and all that crap and none of it worked. I tried Back to Black and it shined them back up. I use it on just about everything to keep it looking like new. I bought a console out of an 05 FX4 in the salvage yard and it was pretty dirty/nasty looking. I washed it, then tried some other cleaners and they didn't leave it looking to great. Back to Black made it look new again.

I use the armor all wipes that come in the yellow container, they seem to work pretty good to me.
