LED Tailgate lightbar

I was thinking of getting a line of fire LED light bar for my ranger and since i have a stepside, i have to get a 36" one, well i found one, but i still have a problem, if i put it on under the tailgate, it will fit but it will cover up my spare lower hole, i was wondering if there was anywhere else i could put it, i was thinking on the actual tailgate, but on the underside of it, so its still hidden but the light will still show. what do u think. here is the one im thinking of getting.
thanks
Anthony

its kinda hard to explain, well u know when the tailgate is down, well the flat part of the tailgate that facing the bed, so ?when the tailgate is up, the light bar would be facing down, and all u would see is the light, idk how that would look. do you know what i mean?
lol i would just put it over the hole, but i would have the luck that i would get a flat and not have a screw driver to get it out. hmmm idk lol

hmm. im not really sure how that would look.. have to see it to decide. but i keep tools in my truck at all times so i dont have to worry about not having a screw driver.

i was thinking this too but your not really going to be able to see it well and it will be pretty much pointless to have

I think those packaged Line of Fire lights suck major monkey *****. You can easily make your own much better with oznium flex strips. Remember this is coming from someone with about 1000 LEDs on his truck.

I did as some others posted in the thread. I didn't wanna cover the spare tire hole

Still plenty of room to clear the bumper. I got some 3M double sided tape from autozone comes like 1" wide I applied it then cut the over hang off

Defiantly spend the extra money for the 3M stuff instead of the cheap tape. The 3M is just like what OEM tape is

I used the tape that came with it and laid a bead of silicon on the backside as you can see in my first pic

Or if you bought the "good" Line Of Fire, not the el cheapo, it comes with 4 screws that lets you unscrew the light bar from the 4 plastic pieces that are 3M'd to the sheetmetal. That way you CAN get to the spare tire key hole. All this other stuff looks and sounds half-***, except for Ngabr1 and STL which works just fine.

When I was getting ready to install mine I also was concernd about the spare tire access. The line of fire that I purchased mounts with 4 tabs. I drilled and screwed the lights into the body section in your picture. I used stainless steel screws and then coated them with anti seizing compund. Should I ever need to get to the spare tire, grab a screw driver from the tool box and your ready to rock.

i tried to find the "good" line of fire and i couldn't find one that they make for stepside trucks (36"). but i think the one i found is good, do u think so? i love the reverse lights on it! they will come in handy at night when hooking up to my trailer!

If you have reverse lights, then yes, and I'm assuming here, you have a good one. I don't know of any cheapo's that make one with the reverse. Good luck with the install and post pics!

I love mine!

not only did I do it like I did cause it covered the spare tire hole

I was afraid I wouldn't have a screw driver in the truck to remove it if I needed to

My truck has a small get you out of trouble tool box for the road. I also carry jumper cables and a disposable white paper jump suit. It's just like your mother told you, " Never leave the house without clean underwear on ", you'll never know when your going to need them.
