Stepside Ranger Bedside Question?

I just noticed today that the drivers side front corner (the step area) of my stepside bed is loose, it looks like the fiberglass of whatever stepside beds are made out of has come of of the metal structure behind it. Does anybody know how it attaches in that area?

Thanks
Todd

there are bolts under the black step pad. pull the step pad off and tighten them. mine loosened up on my a couple years ago and rattled, the bolts where loose.

I have to do this to my truck also. I have just been to lazy to pull the pads off and check it out. It was like that when I bought the truck. It does not move to much so I am not worried about it.

Well, Tore into my bed today, my bolts werent loose under the pads, the structure under the pads crumbled when I tried turning them, now I have my bed off of my truck and both bedsides removed. I found that there was nothing left of the top part of the structure undernieth the step on the drivers side and not much left on the passenger side. Looks like I will be welding in some new panels to the top of the step structures.
