I prefer a grinder with a cutting wheel on it over a sawzall. Sawzalls kick too much, and a cutting wheel will only kick if you are pushing down on it too hard, or you just aren't paying attention.
But really, I don't think you'll have to do any cutting. If anything, you may just need to figure out how to make mounting brackets. I've got a grille guard off a 79 Nissan 720 pickup on my Ranger. But then again, that's all from when box bodies were popular until the 90's came along
