CB problems

hopefully someone here is into this..
me and a buddy have been trying to set up our CBs lately but we're havin some problems
when i transmit he can hear me fine but when he transmits, its pretty fuzzy and cant understand anything.
we've been looking around the net lately and haven't really found anything.
would the problem be on my end or his end?
we used the SWR meter with my ants and result were 1.5-1.3s
his results were 1.5(channel 1) 2+(channel 20) 3+(channel 40)

is the 12v good to use to power them?

if i remember your pic you were running dual antennas and i've heard that running dual antennas is bad idea b/c the ranger is not wide enough.

if his SWR is 3+ on channel 40 he really needs to tune his antenna before he burns out his finals.

scan the channels and see if you can hear anyone else, it sounds like one of you are having a problem.

i would have to look at both to figure it out.

i stoped at the cb shop today and asked him about the 8 ft rule and he said its not proven but he wouldnt recommend running duals on a pick up cause that is way to close together, alot of guys run a dummy one to get the look of duals
