Tint darker or leave it be?

I'm currently at 20% on the sides.....I think. Whatever the factory tint was for the back windows....I had them match it. I was thinking of going a couple shades darker. Nothing's legal, so if I get a ticket, I'd like to have a reason for it. This is the best picture I have right now of the tint that's on it. What do you think? Should I go darker all the way around or just black out the back windows? If I black out the back, it should make the sides a little darker....but I was leaning on doing it darker all the way around.

20% doesnt look bad but darker is always better. i like my 15% and it seems to match the back perfect.

how long have you had the 20%?

Pretty much since I bought the truck. It was the first thing I did to it so probably about 3 years or so. I might call and see how much it would be to go darker all the way around.

i was thinking...if i do 0% on the back windows, it'll probably make the sides look darker since little. if any light will be able to get through the back. I might just do that and leave the sides alone.

i did the same thing you did.... i went to my tint guy and had him match the factory tint that was already on there... i guess i could go a little darker... but it's not too high my my list of things to do for right now.. so factory matched is ok in my book, lol.

yea i hear ya. it shouldnt be that big of a deal to me either.....but i really like the look of my buddy's S-10 with 5% on the back. I'm probably going to black out the back.

It's hard to say. I have 20% on the sides and 5% on the rear. Some days i am very happy with how dark it is, and other days i want to go so much darker.

I think it looks good as it is, but that is just me. I wanted to get Limo tint in the rear when I was in Fla., but now I am glad I didn't, it would be a royal pain in the can to see around where I live now, there aren't any street lights.

Definately post pics when it is done. Can you get a before and after picture from inside the cab looking out the back window. I would like to see what I didn't get.

thanks, but that's a photoshop i did

the only thing i changed in the photoshop was the wheels, lowered it a tad, and gave it that dark red two-tone... that's the paint job i'm leaning towards getting done once my money tree matures and starts to bloom.

Ok, all done and I really like it. The pictures I took don't really do it justice. The second picture looks like it just got really cloudy outside...but it didn't. The sun was still out just like in the first picture. I had the factory tint on the back windows anyway and he put 5% on over top of it. Before, you could stand behind the truck and not see too much, but could see light through the windshield. Now you can't lol. You have to really look hard to see any light through the windshield. Nice because I won't need to flip my rear view mirror at night anymore lol.

Its really nice looking inside. It's a pretty sunny day out here and it was really dark inside. It does make the side windows look a couple shades darker too...which is what I was going for.

This is looking out the back window before I left...

And This is after...

It's hard to see a huge difference from inside unless you're in it. Outside, its virtually impossible to see in. Doing the back and the extended cab windows really make it nice and shady inside. Looks really sharp. don't tell the cops.

damn, haha. I was gonna comment to tell you leave it the way it is. It's tinted already... save the money for some other mod

but the new tint does look a tad darker. That's cool i guess.

I'm just about done with "modding" it I think. a Superlift is next on the agenda. That'll be a little ways off though.

The factory tint is nice....I really liked it.....but I'm picky...and wanted it darker

5% was the darkest they had and it along with the factory tint is pretty much 0% lol. It's lifetime tint, so if it ever starts to fade or turn purple, they'll re-tint it for free. so thats cool. i hate that purple tint....looks like crap lol

I don't know about where you live or where I live now, but in FL the back 3 windows on an extended cab could be as dark as you want them.

That looks pretty good!

#1 I have to say, beautiful truck, love the color

#2 I had 2.5% put over my back tint, and mines dark, the cops really wont hastle you about your back ones because i mean it looks so good tinted you cant tell, once you do the front ones is when i got hastles...

#3 What do you want to do next for mods, & what do you have done?

Oh BTW if those are Mickey Thompson rims, and are not clearcoated good luck keeping those things that shiny. I ordered mine and i made the mistake of keeping them on during the New England winter and it messed mine all up, i wish i woulda spent the extra money to get the clear coat!
