Cowl Induction for new body style?
I have looked EVERYWHERE and have searched threads left and right and i am sure no one makes a good aftermarket hood for the new body style rangers. I love cowl inductions and would love to have one on my Ranger but I cant find one. Has anyone found one or am I chit outta luck?

Hmm I read that article and my grandpa was a body man back in the day so he knows a thing or two about body filler, sanding, and the whole nine yards. I could mayb convince him to help me give it a shot one rainy day!
And I think its an omen: I decided to look on eBay to see how much another hood would costs and there was one about 40 minutes away for (currently) five bucks!!! But its got 6 days left so we will see

Go with a shaker set up. So ya can see the motor move and when stuff sticks threw the hood people get nervous (not in a Honda way where a rod or transmission send the hood and radiator support off to the passenger side mirror. As if it was an air freshener for bling)

There are all kinds of hood scoops out there.
Look around and pick one that looks the way you want it.
Most scoop installs are time consuming but not extremely hard.
GT500 Scoops look good and a low profile Cowl Induction looks good too.
Also, if you can make a form in the shape you want then you can make your own scoop.
Maybe if you had an older style hood with the Cowl Scoop in it, use it as a form for the scoop.

LMC truck has a scoop that looks good. Combined with real cutting and torques bolts pulling off a scoop would be nice. Still not a cowl I guess but check out glassworks unlimited. Nice hoods there. Resin based not metal. But good looking in my eyes.
To each his own. True beauty is in the eu of the beholder. I polish my turd when ever I can. As long as I am happy with the results that's what matters to me. Find your set up and go with it and show it off! Can't wait to see it!

Iv actually been doing a lot of researchon this and iv found a few ideas that shouldnt be too difficult. Im still bidding on a donor hood on eBay so we will see how cheap I can pick that bad boy up in a few days. Iv looked at the Shelby GT500 hood but that looks like it may be a little difficult. And iv also looked at a Ford GT (the supercar, not the Mustang) which would be fairly easy but Im not sure how effective itd be?

Well I finally bought a new aftermarket hood to tinker with off eBay. $5 bucks! Brand new! I was in heaven! (Plus the $40 in gas to go get it).
Anyways, Iv been thinkin bout what design I wanted to do and did some extremely noobish photoshopping. Im still new to it... But you can kinda get the idea.
The first one is more of a Shelby GT500 look or a Ram Air Trans Am. And the second one is suppost to be a cowl induction... That thing took me a half hour and it still looks like crud...

Ok so I popped the hood today and took some measurements and such and devised a plan that oughta work. There is a bit of reinforcment where the latch system latches and i took a flashlight and looked around. Its not connected to the shell til further back so I ought to be able to cut all that out except where the latch is, reinforce the latch with some sheet metal, and then start cuttin the hood to make the rams. Sounds good? Eh, im not much of a body man but ill be hittin my gpa up to see what he thinks
