Toolbox and Under Hood Lights!!! PICS!

9 Attachment(s)
So I did some playing around... Since I'm a LED whore, I did a few things...

I bought the lights on ebay for like $15 a pair shipped and I bought 2 of them...

Here's the toolbox lights when I got them with the original LEDs (switch is on a push button right inside the box):

And here's with the 55,000mcd LEDs I bought and replaced the originals with:

Now for the under hood lights, I didn't put them in until I had the 55,000mcd LEDs in the housing to save time... So I did that the other night and then this morning put everything in... You can see the red switch right in front of the batter:

trey81976 Mar 20, 2008 03:00 PM

Nice... Great Idea

Rangerguy Mar 20, 2008 03:11 PM

Very nice, I may have to add that to my list of mods to do.

04blackedge Mar 20, 2008 03:13 PM

I'm gonna steal that idea on the underhood lighting, very clean install looks great! Do you have a link on eBay for the auction?

TrePaul86 Mar 20, 2008 03:15 PM

Hey thanks guys, for all the compliments! It was literally a hour mod lol...

Anyways, here's the link... There's 2 different kinds from the same place..

Here's the ones I bought

And here's the bigger brother to those ones... Wish I would have seen these when I originally bought mine... They were hard to track down as it was!!

Trigger01 Mar 20, 2008 05:12 PM

04blackedge Mar 20, 2008 05:48 PM

Mines worse than that lol

Fx4wannabe01 Mar 20, 2008 10:09 PM

Paul....lookin good as usual....you led slut you. lol.

I'm picking up two sets.....under hood, and in toolbox. With the 55,000mcd's i've had for months now. lol. Hey! those links actually work this time.!?!!

INT3RC3PTOR Mar 21, 2008 03:58 PM

sweet mod! I am def. doing this to my tool box and engine bay. I have had to hard of a time trying to hold the mag light or set it somewhere that it shines where i need it.

how do they mount exactly?

TrePaul86 Mar 21, 2008 06:25 PM

double sided sticky tape... They only weight like 2oz with the bracket lol... there's a metal tab that bends and it's double sided stick tape to the hood and the light itself... cake!

INT3RC3PTOR Mar 21, 2008 08:14 PM

awesome, cause i was gonna wonder how i can get it attached to the top of my toolbox lid without drilling through it somehow.

good to know!

Fx4wannabe01 Mar 22, 2008 08:03 AM

JB weld......

DetroitR6 May 18, 2008 09:20 PM

"power consumption savage"!

i always wanted to savage my power consumption!

Lone Ranger 93 May 19, 2008 07:38 AM

the ones under the hood turned out real well! My factory under hood light doesn't light up nearly that much at all compared to your setup

TrePaul86 May 19, 2008 07:56 AM

Haha thanks guys! And they're up outta the way too!

GR8COM May 19, 2008 08:39 AM

They look really nice on the tool box set up debating whether or not I want to order some. I have a gullwing tool box so it may be worth it. Other wise once I put my cover on behind the toolbox a way to light up the bed a little bit with the cover on.

How well are those lights gonna hold up under the hood, i.e. dirt, water, etc, etc???
