Bed Rails?

Im hopefully gonna have my camper sold soon and when I do I think I wanna go with some bed rails. From the time I first wanted a ranger, I wanted some bed rails. For those of you with experience, where did you get yours and what company do you suggest? Also there seem to be drill mounted, and stake pocket mounted. I dont know which is nicer, but whicheved doesnt show the tab with the bolt is what I would prefer. I think I want to go with some black ones also.

Also has anyone done the diamond plat rail covers and the bed rails?? I think I would, If I have the money, like to do both at some point, as I have a dent on one of the bed rails.

Thanks

i think the steak mounted ones are sturdier personally, less likely to strip out like screw on ones would. i custome made rails that attach to a back rack i made also

These are DeeZee. And they are clear coated so you never have to polish them, and they have bolts that hold them on, on the inside of the bed. I really like them. I got some felt with adhesive on the back so they wouldn't scratch the paint.

My opinion: The aluminum/steel ones dont fit properly...never seen one that fit quite right. That's the reason I went with Bushwacker Diamondback bedrail caps and tailgate cap.

I think all 3 pieces were right at $100 US....maybe $90. It's been a few years. I liked 'em cuz well...they wern't crappy fitting steel or aluminum ones, and these covered up the ugly marks the huge stock caps left in my paint. lol.

Attach via 3M tape....which...the tailgate cap needs redone soon. Both sides are starting to lift.

yeah I saw both of those type of covers on the website I was looking at.

I like the diamond plate ones, but I think I want black, I also like that they are bolted.

I kinda like the ones you have shane, except I dunno about the adhesive mounting. I also want to have the option to bolt on some bed rails.

I think I found the ones I like, they are Putco, black powdercoated.

I sold my camper this morning, and they guy is spray lining my truck as we speak. I didnt go over the rails, cause I dont like the look of it. Should have my truck back by lunch! Sexines.

Tailgate sticky is lifting after 2 winters....I'd say that's pretty damn good. And If you end up getting a toolbox, that'll hold the front down and if you get those cool little stake pocket hooks like I have that'll hold down the rear....you'll never have any sticky problems. I hate drilling holes into the body...but if that's what you wanna do, have fun.

shane, what is the material of your bed rail covers? is it plastic or metal? Is it paintable? I dunno why I just dont like plain rhino line on the rails, but I might like those rhino lined. I just got my truck and the rhino lining is drying, sexy black and shiny, hope it stays relatively black tho. Also I have dents and some hole from a toolbox.

Also if I get another toolbox it will be a chest that sits in the bed, not an on the rail type.
