Two tone, or not two tone...

Lame title ok but whatever ha ha.
Im thinking about doing a two tone on my truck similar to the last Level IIs. Like this member's truck.... (BiltriteBullies) Attachment 147670 The DSG on black looks awesome, and id probably paint the flares DSG too. Yay or Nay? I can do it for $0 at work, so its only gonna cost me time. So cost is a non issue. Its just a matter of if its lame for a 2WD sport to rock an FX4 L2 paint job. Oh, and paint the bumpers too? or leave them black? I think they might even look good black but hey... Heres my truck as is Attachment 147671 Attachment 147672 |

I might do some spray out panels of DSG and hold it up to the car or something and see how it looks in person. I dont see a ton of L2 's out here to compare it to.
Anyone got some close up shots of where the factory cuts off the two tone? |
Do it in Line-X. They can do pretty much any color you want, then it will actually serve a purpose
|
I vote yes.
|
i vote paint the lower valace gloss black and get black rims... no two tone
|
i love the two tone, if u do it, ull have to do it JUST LIKE the level IIs (bumpers and all) and get some different wheels....y wouldnt it look good, urs is a Ranger too...right!? it just sits a little lower than the level II...

I don't know if these pics will help or no for the "cut off" http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/w...Picture002.jpg Older pic http://i728.photobucket.com/albums/w.../052509005.jpg |
i say do it. especially since its free... BUT.. at the same time, i like the other guys response with "paint the lower valence gloss black and get black rims".
i could go either way on that one. |
I like the 2 tone but not the grey bumper up front. I think the grey bumper out back would look good.
|
I say paint the rocker panels DSG, but leave the flares gloss black.

Do you have any pics of where the cutoff is in the doorjamb and on the area between the back of the cab and front of the bed? I like it, i think ive got to photoshop it with the black flares to see how that looks. I think id keep the front bumper black well, because i like it lol. I LOVE the standard FX4 split spoke wheels. I wonder how those would look powdercoated DSG or black and thrown on here... Ideas... damn... I think even though the paint is free, ill wind up into this for a few hundred to complete the look lol. |
No

I don't think so Steve.

Go for it. I was thinking of doing mine also 06 sport silver. DSG all the way. Where you planning on painting the flares on truck or remove and paint the flares?
|
