Hello all. I just got my project Ranger and needed some info. Will the 04 xlt bumper and balance fit the edge? It looks to me identical from pictures but when I search to order them the auto sites say they will not fit. Thanks.

 

All Ranger bumpers from 1998-2011 will interchange (though they may not look good on certain years). What you can't do, is mix and match the valences and some of the bumpers. 98-00 have one style bumper, 01-05 have another, and 06-11 have another.

2001-2005 is the most complicated because the fog light bumper and valance is different than the non-fog light bumper and valances. Not only that, but 01-03 have one style of valance, and then in 04-05 Ford "updated" the valance, so it looks a little different than the 01-03 valance. You need to pay close attention and make sure if you're buying a non-fog light bumper, that you're buying a non-fog light valance.

 

I have seen combo packages with valance and bumper combo with fog lights for the xlt. So I am fairly certain it would work. I was wanting to go that route because I am afraid if I buy a bumper and repaint it red with the age of the truck it may show a difference. I was just going to get the xlt package and maybe a different back bumper also later on.

 

Well got the front on no problem. But now trying to find a chrome rear bumper and from what I’ve seen they are very difficult to find for a flareside.

 

Looks good! You're having the opposite problem I'm having. I'm trying to find a painted rear bumper for my Flareside, but the ones I find are all bent up.

 

If I can’t find a chrome I may try to paint it black and get a new bumper cover.
