need some opinions

I really like the look of a blacked out truck and have been thinking about swaping out my bumpers to black changing the crome ring around my grill to dsg, getting a black billet grilll and going with some black rims also. I am aslo getting the new black headlights and corners from ebay. What do you guys think?

here is a pic of how it is now.

hmmm...I think maybe getting the Bumpers in DSG would look better. Just because your valance and flares are more of a flat gray/black. Might look a little off

thanks I kinda like the idea of dsg bumpers.

this may be a stupid question but I have never had to deal with it before can you paint over chrome or do I have to get new bumpers?

i have been contemplating this as well on my dsg step side. i was thinking how it would look to do the bed liner stuff on the bumpers and grill surround. and painting my enblems black. i already have black d window wheels. i think a dsg truck all blacked out would look bad a$$

You can paint on chrome as long as your using a proper cleaned surface (Alcohol cleaned preferably), a good couple coats of adhesion promoter, and the natural 2-3 coats of a good metal paint, perhaps a krylon or rustoleum.. then followed by a couple coats of clearcoat.

God that thing is sexy the way it is imo. everything flows except the corners. DSG looks good with chrome. If you want, at our meet, we could throw on my headlamps and wheels/tires to see what it'll look like.....

Then again....DSG looks great all dark too..headlight mods, black wheels, black billet, edge bumpers/flares.

it's a hard decision for me.

the bumper on my truck used to be chrome....

I think it would look perfect with clear corners and 06+ badges.

I say DSG the front and rear bumpers, grille surround *and* insert. Top it all off with DSG headlight mod, and 06+ tails and badges. Love the stance of your truck BTW

I agree the corners are terrible. right now they are the only thing I really dont like on the truck.... I went to les schwab yesterday to see how much it would be to get my wheels powdercoated and its about $75 a piece through them. Im thinking I just want to get new wheels and keep the ones I have now too just in case I ever want to swap them out.

I have the 06+ badges but I want to paint them before I put them on If I go through with the all dsg and black I was thinking about keeping the ranger part black and painting the rest dsg. im going to do a test one this week and see how it turns out.
