Pull up on the corner that is away from the mirror. If I pull up mine just pop right off. About 1/2-3/4" slides under the mirror.

VER YVER YVERY common issue. New parts run about 20 from the ford dealership. Take off your door panel, take off your mirror, pull up on the old ones, push on the new ones, done. VERY VERY easy and simple.

dang! that's cheap (inexpensive) enough!

i had two (of the four) on my escort that looked like utter crap (and the other two weren't as bad, but would have been noticeable if they didn't change as well)... cost me $140 for the set of four!!

(btw, the official name for the part is "beltline moulding") ... $20 a pop is cheap enough. I'll add this to my list, as I've had some stubborn tree sap crap get on and start staining mine...

I think $20 was what I paid....I feel safe saying $30 is more 'normal' for anyone to walk up to the parts counter. I have kind of a hookup at Ford. lol.

you dont have to. When i did mine on my 99 i just popped the old ones off then put the new ones in. took all of 5 minutes. I dont know if 01+ works the same way though.

That is how mine are. I can just walk up and pop them on and off.
