What is this piece of plastic under the front bumper for? Can I remove it?

it serves no purpose, its supposed to be for looks, take it off and i bet your truck will look higher/lifted!

 

i'm ging to guess its just an air dam. It wont hurt anyting to remove it. I know Oaisis(Nick) did remove his on his 96 and he likes it better, its more of a cosmetic part.

 

It's called your lower valance. I have a mini billet grille in the opening. It serves no real purpose but can protect the bottom engine components a little from rock/debris. It is held on by four 7mm (I think) and like 6 of the plastic push in things that are a pain in the *** to take out.

 

Yeah, I was thinking it was just for looks, I will try to remove it if we get a dry day here.
