Well thanks to a guy on RPS i got an awesome idea of moddin my stock tails to have leds in them.....my co-worker is going to moultree ga (big parts swap meet in Georgia) and hes going to try to find me tractor trailor round 4inch taillights with 10 or more led's in them.......i will post pics as i get them done and possibly a how-to on it....iam just waiting now.......lol

 

yep he is headed out tomorrow morning at 5am to go down there.....lucky bastard is off work....lol

 

i dunno nothing about it but him and his dad go every year so i dunno...lol he went earlier this year in feb i believe....

yea he has his done but i dunno with what....there was a guy on rps that modded 06 tails with the same thing iam speaking of..

 

why not just use the sockets out of a lincoln?

 

You can find those light at any trailer place.. We have a place called intercon that has all those round and oval halogen and LED lights.

So what exactly are you going to do? Sounds like a good idea but im confused are you going to chop the inside of your lights and mount the semi lights on the inside? Or are you going to shave your tails and mold in some.....

I work at a semi company so i could get whatever lights....a friend of mine actually put in these lights on his nissan

 

once i build them.........i know i can get them at a trailor place but my co-worker says he can get them cheap as hell down in moultree so we will see.........going to the junkyard tomorrow to get a just incase i ooops on my tails......lol

 

iam going to take apart the tails and cut a hole in the back of the taillight and take apart the semi light to just the backing and light without the red lense and mount it inside the taillight and have leds in my tail light..

ahh....got ya....They used to do this to ford probes, but they bought LED lights to put in the socket....

Nevermind they did chop them...

 

I just bought those led's for my 06 lights on ebay. The mirrored background is hard to find on regular trailer led lights.
