Should I go ahead and remove them? I don't like the look of them to much.

take them off,there easy to put back on if you like them on better,plus it just looks cleaner with them off

Absolutely take 'em off. I did that within hours of getting my truck home!

i didnt like the ones that were on my old '93 XLT, but the ones that are on the '03 FX4 i actually dont really mind...still may take them off in the future, just not yet.

check your laws. ive had mine off for over 3 years, than bam 2 weeks ago i got pulled over and ticked for no mudflaps.

*edit* just did a quick check, looks to only be required on commercial vehicles in GA
