The only thing that won't work is a long bed with an extended cab.

older beds fit too but they'll look stupid lol a modded tailgate would look cool though. cut out the center piece on an older style weld into a new tailgate

I think this should be specified a little more....

ALL 6' beds are interchangeable. 93-11 are all similar in body lines but pre 93 can fit as pointed out. A 7' bed would need to have some modification done to the frame to fit.

Yes they fit. The only things that change are the taillights and emblems every couple years.

This is an oldie... if you read the post... it says a seven foot bed would require mods.
If you have a short bed truck another short bed would work... Except for one thing !
I used a mid 90's Steppy Bed on my '03 standard short bed, 2 dr cab, EDGE and could not lower my spare using the crank handle. As it turns out there is no hole in the mid 90's bed to slip the crank through.
So.. depending on the year of the short bed you may need to do a little modding no matter what !
