also i how do you take the mirror off?
usually on the side of the glass toward the top is a mark, look for a line in the glass or something, you cant go below that. im not sure about a ranger but i have seen it on other cars.
rangers have that little line. i went about an inch and a half or so below that line

ok found the line it says AS1. i think ill go about an inch below that. thanks alot. now i dont have to take the mirror off, ill just cut around it.
yup thats how mine is, the way it curves up, its a hair above that mirror. mirrors are a PITA to reinstall. lol
wife got a $78 ticket for it being too low and it was only about a half inch below the mark.... It's like a little triangle on mine...
tell your parents that you are allowed (legally) to tint your front window 6 inches below the top edge of the window.
im sure it varys state to state....
Mine ends right bellow the Mirror. . . .
According to the IWFA(International Window Film Association) LA legal Windshield limit is to the AS1 line, and nothing Darker than 40% on the Front sides.

Most cops don't car as long as its not blacked out....and the strip is not waaay down the Windshield...I was just letting you know the exact State laws.
ive decided to not even mess with the sun strip. ill just take it to a tint shop....im going to redo my front windows and i was woundering how to take the windows out? i think it would be alot easier.
I would not even mess with the windows!!! Just rip off the old tint and take it to a professional..If you were closer I would say come to my shop...It takes me an 1 1/2 hours to do two side windows and a sun strip. To pull both windows would be a huge pain in the A$$ and not needed. Trust me
yeah i realized that so i said screw it and went ahead and tinted it. this time i got a card and pushed down the water and soap that kept coming up and making spikes at the bottom of the window. its the best on yet except for the little pinch right in the middle of the window. i made it a little smaller though so its not as noticable. how would you get that out?
if its creased there is no way. You will either have to start over or live with it for now.
its been forever and i still havent even put it on but i thought bout going ahead and puttin the sun strip on there myself and was woundering if would have to heat shrink it at all? its a pre cut.... i dont think i do but making sure before i screw it up
i thought you were goin to a shop?
never did and just stopped thinking bout it. how much do you think it would cost?

oh....ill do that and save myself the trouble then

If you want to take the window out to tint it it is not hard. Most vehicle all you do is take offthe door panel and you will see the bottom of the glass sitting in the scissor lift mechanism. The window is usually only held in place by two small bolts and they pull out

They are actually usually riveted in, and you have to drill them out and either replace the rivets, or replace them with bolts that will work in function with the mechanism's of the door. |
HELL NO...I would absolutely not remove the windows...There is no need to. A good Tinter can do the job just fine with the Windows in. 01RangerEdge is right for $10-20 a shop will throw the Strip on...
