Wiper Arms

well after 8 years of weather and driving, my wiper arms are starting to fade and the paint is slowly beginning to work its way off. im thinking that im gonna try painting them tonite after work, but i dont really know how to take them off. is there a trick to getting them off?

it probably has a cap you pry off and a nut underneath it. I'd have to look.

If I remember right, there is a little lever. Once you pull that up you can pull up on the Arm a wiggle it. It should pop off.

ok on the window side of the arm you will see a little tang sticking out and up. first lift the wiper arm up, like you do when replacing the wiper, then take one hand/nail and move the tang out, then take the other hand and lower arm. it will sit on the tang that gets exposed on the other side now your wiper doesnt sit on the glass any more and just lift striaght out....

here is the pics

oh 2 other things.

1) i just sanded them down really good. got some black etching primer. shot the primer to cover up the bear metal and then sprayed them with like 6 coats of Semi Gloss paint. and let dry over night and vola finished.

2) make sure when you put them back on you are really carefull dont force them on they need to line up with the ribs on the wiper motor stud on the rips on the arm too just be easy with them
