Coil-Over Conversion
Coil-Over Conversion
I am coming back from a deployment soon and have money to put into my truck. I Know ORW quit making it, but I was wondering if any of y'all knew if anyone else made a Superlift coilover conversion for the 98 and newer rangers? Also, will ORW or TRS Fab and Offroad sell the Superlift kit without the shocks and rear components? Thanks for the help.
No business makes the coil-over conversion brackets other than ORW. And, as you know, they aren't making any at the moment.
You can get the front Superlift components without the rear, but the shocks will come with the front. Although you will most likely be better off to buy the entire kit and sell what you don't need.

A 2.75" I.D. u-bolt. I assume you are wanting them for a future set-up? You need to figure out what the height between the bottom of the axle tube to the top of the u-bolt plate will be to get the right length. I don't know what size lift block, if any, you plan to run.
You could get some of these: U Bolt, 5/8" x 2 3/4" x 10" [UB275] - $12.50 Then you can just cut them down to the length you need.
Or, these: http://store.fatbobsgarage.com/u-bol...f-4-p5710.aspx And, then leave them as-is for a perfect fit.
Or, these: 5/8" X 2-3/4" X 8" U-Bolt - Essentially Offroad And, have a little extra thread for future changes.

Did you click on the pic? When I do I get a bigger picture
ok got the pic to show up, one other question what kind of Coilover is the best to run? I mostly do on road driving with off roading on the weekends. Most of my off roading consists of trails and little bit of mud.
are there any certain specs i should look for when purchasing such as Diameter, travel etc.. I don't know too much about coilovers and this would be my first conversion. Trying to get as much info as i can before i start
You can go with whatever brand name you prefer, but I like Fox myself. As for the travel, it depends on what kind of suspension set-up you have. You would be best off calling Off Road Warehouse to order the coil-over's. Just tell them what you have and what you need and they will recommend the coil-over's that have the closest needed specifications. That way you have a guarantee if they happen not to work. Keep in mind, that ORW carries Fox coil-over's that are custom made by Fox for the Ranger application. And, they aren't available for sale on their website.
