Driveshaft Question

Driveshaft Question
Alright I got the manual t-case from beard and bolted it on now I got the correct front driveshaft from a 93 expo I think, but anyway I bolted that on but the front of the driveshaft is compressed nearly all the way in. I think that it would cause the t-case to grenade from lack of movement. Is that normal for this kind of swap from a 1354e to 1354m in a ranger? Would I have to worry about it grenading?

the TTB front shafts are a little bit longer than 95+ shafts....you'd need a 95-97 Explorer front shaft for proper fitment. Shortening your existing TTB shaft might outcost what the right shaft would cost.
But if it the shaft fits, run it. It's only got a slip in it for installation/removal....the front diff and tcase are both stationary. Meaning, the diff doesn't move with suspension travel/flex like on TTB or solid axles.
I could be wrong, but I don't see a problem so long you can install it.

ahh thank you. It has already been installed but it is about 90-95% compressed, there has to be some kind of movement to put the compression stage on there. On the 98 shafts there is no compression stage on the end of the shaft but in the rear joint it is allowed to move back and forth for the flex of the driveshaft and t-case over rough terrain. There is a lot of forces going on in the suspension over big bumps. But that is just my theory I could be wrong as well.

the boot is about compressed down to an inch or less but its hard to give an accurate measurement being that the boot is kinda in the way. it still makes me a lil bit iffy on keeping the driveshaft tho. another thing if the breather tube got pinched for a ride around the block would that cause a seal to blow?
