Icon7 Camper shell mod with a little story

Hey guys so tonight i picked up a camper shell for 300. its silver on my white truck but it doesnt look to bad for now. it was originally posted for 300 and i was going to try to talk him down but then this happend............... i get out and check out the camper and everthing check out ok. he kept it clean on an 03 edge. then we left it up onto the truck bed so its about half way on. i looked over and notices the door was open and it was pooring out over here in socal. i shut the door and jump into the bed again and get back to work. the tool box i have didnt work with the shell so i had to loosen it. i told my girl to go into my truck nd get my key to the box (which is on a separate key ring than the truck keys) and shes like the doors locked and the truck keys are in the ignition... FML!!! so i remembered about the trick to unlock the door with the antenna thing. after about 30 min it didnt work! AAA was on the way and we waited. the guy i bought it from used his AAA and helped me in the pooring rain trying to open my door so i had no grounds to talk him down. i gve him the 300 and he tried to give me a 20 back but i wouldnt accept it. anyway i guess when it rains it poors and ill try to get pics soon of it but i love it already!!!

Sounds like a nice guy. Camper shells are nice in my opinion. Gives you so much more useable space.

I would think it would depend on who does it and how good you want the job done !

I have not had a Cap done but just a bed, I wanted it to the 9’s… $1500.
The paint matches perfectly, you can’t tell that the bed is new, they took pictures of the paint and matched it up.

Nice. I was lucky enough to get a toreador red one for my flareside for $50 in good shape. I had a big grin that day :)

I wonder why the antenna didnt work? I used it at Advance one day when I locked my keys in. I had to go inside and ask for some pliers to get the antenna off and felt like a moron that I locked my keys in.

hey guys, fyi on the antenna trick, use the thick end that screws in to the mount, the thin end does not work. i have it down to about 3-5 seconds. if you pm me, i can explain a lil more. its a good thing to know in my book. better than breaking a window!

I think it might be best to keep this trick a little more hush hush..but that's just my opinion.

The cap looks good I think!
