Torsen T2 limited slip with low miles (oregon)

Up for grabs is a 30,000 mile used Torsen brand T2 type limited slip differential for a Ford 8.8" 31spline Axle. Came out of a 2005 Ford Ranger Fx4 Level II truck. It only had 30,000 miles on it when pulled for a locker carrier install. The Torsen differential uses helical gears and springs that don't wear out like other limited slips like the Ford TracLoc that uses clutches. It's complete but I used the center pin retaining bolt. That can be purchased for only a few bucks from a differential shop or just reuse your existing one. Has ABS tone ring. This would be an excellent upgrade for your Mustang, Explorer, Ranger, Bronco, F150, anything with a 31spline 8.8" rear end, even axle swapped Jeep, TJ, XJ, YJ, ZJ.

*Disclaimer: In '02, Ford recalled the early Torsens for having a weak carrier. This problem has been fixed and the one I have listed is not an effected unit...a 3 year newer model. Only the early units have the bad rap of failure. Later units, like what I have listed here, do not.

Retails for about $620... Torsen Limited Slip Differential, T2, 31 spline, Ford 8.8 [4209-T31] - $619.95 : Lightning Force Performance

Asking SOLD!!!

Paypal Preferred.

I understand the benefit of your torsen over stock, I'm just not understanding why not go locked? is this torsen LS kind of a middle ground btw stock and locked? Will it aid in traction is what I'm getting at I guess.lol

Locked isn't for everyone. And isn't the end all to traction aides. LS is still a crap ton better than open anyday.

Please hold your opinions of LS vs Locked to yourselves. I'm locked now if you read the description. It's the reason this is up for sale. This is a great addition to those whom have either a: a worn out Tracloc or b: someone who has an open explorer axle or open bronco/150, etc.

You should make a new thread for this question.
But locked in a DD is a *****, especially if its a manual tranny. And it's obvi that a limited slip diff is between stock open and fully locked.
