Icon5 2002 Ranger rot.

I am dealing with some frame rot on the cross member that the gas tank is suspended from. My plan is to build a new one. I was toying with using round or square tubing with 3/16 flat plating. Is this a good plan or would angle be better and what size tubing or angle?

Yes, I missed this too

I wouldn't use "tubing" as it can rust from the inside out unless it is coated or made from rust resistant metals
