i dont want to know the bill for 100' of 1.75" DOM lol im sure its not cheap. Some smaller stuff i need is 12$ a foot but its 1/4" wall

anywhere from 3-6 dollars a foot. depends on the quantity you buy and where you buy it from. Obviously the more you buy the cheaper you can get it. but all steel 1.75x.120 wall tubing weighs the same. similar to the misconseption that Chromoly Tubing weighs less then HREW or DOM. Its very close it weight, its just that its stronger so it allows you to run a thinner wall, like .095, so its lighter in the fact that you can use thinner wall material for the same strength.

lol. so let me get this right, you want an exo cage for the purpose of protecting the look (in particular, the body) of your truck... yet you're willing to put all this metal on the outside, in plain view, of the truck to do so? THEN, you take this creation through the woods where aesthetics should be the last of your worries.

exactly... for people like me.. i want to wheel a truck/rig that looks decent, i dont want to have that POS on the trail that looks like its been rolled 100 times.. i want it looking 1/2 way decent
you don't cover up the whole truck in metal...
you're going to want it when you flop...
i cant find any pics of a beat up truck, im not trying too hard.. but it definitely helps

but you make your exo cage the focus, not your "decent" looking truck. so... it seems bass ackwards to me. You want to keep your truck looking good, so you put a crapton of tubes to partially cover & hide that oh-so-shiny paint job. i guess i just dont get how you think an exo cage looks good. I imagine it's the same way as how people like trucks on 44s with 2" of travel.

Exo casges work well when rock crawling. If you're on your side scraping a canyon wall an exo cage will slide over the rocks. If it's just sheet metal (ie: truck body) and glass (windows) the truck will be torn apart and it won't slide very easily. They're for protection. Redranger4.0 posted a video of his buddies exo cage in action. Rolling down hills and stuff. Simply put they're badazz.
Here is a truck that is a little beat up and could use a better exo cage
Here are two of the many pics I have of local guys going out on the 5+ rated trails. On these an exo cage is highly recommended or you'll end up like the truck above. The body looks like crumpled tin foil.
Rock in your window? lol

its all about performance, I could care less if my truck gets beat to crap and looks like the top one. But if Im wedged against a tree or bolder, sheetmetal doenst like to slide, like an exo bar will.
