Icon4 Rocksliders without bodylift

It doesnt work... lol

I was gonna attempt to weld my rock sliders on today, and I dont have a body lift. The problem was that i dont have enough frame to work with.

The body sits too dang low on the frame for me to weld the forward most mount level.

I need some ideas on how to make this work . Anyone with rock sliders on a truck without a body lift, could you please post pics of how you mounted your sliders?

Get some longer legs that go to the frame and bend them.

you bought the trailgear ones right?

maybe you can hit up a fab shop, and have them bend the arms that came with the sliders to your liking? i bet theyd charge you little or nothing since its easy work

Yeah i have the trailgear 78" HREW ones. They seem PLENTY strong by the way. The frame will fail before these suckers, so Im not regreating going with the cheaper HREW tubing over the DOM.

Yeah, looks like Ill have to have the front mounts bent slightly to make them work. The frame rear of the door handles is plenty low, its just the front that is too high so Ill only have to bend 2 of the tubes...

I was also considering making a bracket to weld to the frame so I can get a lower mounting point, what do you guys think about that? or is bending the way to go?

What does it matter if the front mount is level? just angle the mount up.

Hmm, should I cut it at an angle so it sits flush with the frame, or does that not matter?

**I like this idea and thought of it myself, just wasnt sure if I should have the tube sitting flush on the frame or not

Yes you will need to cut the end to match the angle you created with the frame.

i think the good thing about the stuff it came with, is the arms are already notched for the slider

but yeah, you should just take a grinder and cut the end of the arms that attach to the frame at an angle, and weld em on that way
