bumper build...not a ranger

my brothers 1990 YJ. this is what we accompleshed tonight. basicly he did most of the cutting(i did some) and i did all the welding because well im better ha.

mock up and figuring out how wide to make it

nice beads dude, but you see the little holes in a couple of em? your moving too fast
but youve got the technique down for sure. its fast and slow here and there.

what are you using? 220 stick 220 mig?

i used to bring my leather welding apron to metal shop when i would have to weld, its so dam hot in cali pants arent an option and im not a fan of sparks burning holes in my shorts or my legs lol

i love the millermatics, they lay down smooth clean beads if adjusted correctly

doesnt look like stick to me. probably mig.

buut is it just me or does the left side of the bumper look longer than the right?

personally i woulda made the bumper a tad longer, but it looks good

its the angle.. they are the same length. and the ends are going to be cut at an angle so its not so square.

personally i woulda made the bumper a tad longer, but it looks good
we made it that short so more of the tire is exposed because its not going to get a huge lift. its saying on about 31x10.5s

i love the millermatics, they lay down smooth clean beads if adjusted correctly
ya i love my welder...really want to learn tig though

ive seen stick beads that rival mig beads, its all in the technique

ya i love my welder...really want to learn tig though
i would love to learn tig too, i want a miller matic but i had to settle for a little 110 stick welder from harbor frieght lol

ya well my brother and i were going to settle for a cheap welder we could afford but than our dad told us to wait tell Christmas. basically that was our only Christmas present for 2 years and the catch was we had weld/fix what he wanted us to once we got good ha.
